Making Spraylogos
Creating custom spray logos for Counter-Strike Source
Making custom spray logos & tags for Counter-Strike has never been so easy! The new source engine allows users to import their own spray logos without all that complex work of converting colour tables & editing cfg files etc. Now even a complete newbie to Counter-Strike & computers can create their own sprays without any knowledge require but that of a simple graphics program like that of Adobe's Photoshop.

Here how it's done in 3 easy steps

STEP 1.
Open up your graphics program, here I'm using Adobe's Photoshop 6. Drag or open up the image you wish to use for your spray logo in your chosen graphics package, cut, edit or add any text until you are happy with the final spray logo.

STEP 2.
Before saving your final logo you need to resize it to the correct size required in Half-Life 2. The require sizes are 128x128, 128x256 or 256x256. I would recommend you use 256x256 pixels for the best result & quality. Once you have either resized your image or better still designed your image based on a 256x256 pixel canvas (for improved quality) all you need to do is save the image as a .JPG file... It can be RGB or Indexed Colour table it really doesn't matter.

STEP 3.
Finally load up Half-Life 2 or Counter-Strike Source and on the main game menu (hit 'ESC' key if you are in a live game to return to the main menu) on the menu you will see 'Options' and under Options you should find the spray logo section. On this screen you will see the 'Import' image/logo button. Click this & then browser to the logo file you saved on your hard drive. If you created the logo to the correct size you should have no problem in importing it. Once Imported you should see your logo in the browser window and you are now ready to hit the servers to test your new spray.

Put your *.VTF and *.VMT files into your logos folder, should be here:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[email protected]\counter-strike source\cstrike\materials\VGUI\logos
To get your spray in-game just go to the options menu and scroll down the spray list to 'the name of your spray' ... it will display your first frame in the picture box. The spray won't animate in the options menu, but it will animate in the game.
