The Weekly Acolyte Source Uninstalled Zonealarm
and are now getting a vsdata95.vxd error? Here's some info... Editing the registry
is the fastest method, but you have a lot more potential to cause serious
problems. If you decide to proceed, use caution. Deleting the wrong entry
can cause applications to fail, your computer to become unstable or not
boot at all. You've been warned, be careful! First, click Start, then
Run, then type in Regedit and press enter. In Regedit navigate to: HKEY_LOACAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD.
Next click on the plus sign to expand it and you will see a long list
of VxD's. Locate VSDATA95.VXD and highlight vsdata95.vxd then press the
delete key to remove it. Close Regedit and restart your system. (B) http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/support/znalmInstall98FAQ.jsp you will see the file
listed in Uninstall Step 1, #2., that was removed. The registry entry
to remove is listed in Uninstall Step 4, second section, the one that
mentions VXD. If you remove that registry entry, you should not see the
error again. However, if you are comfortable with regedit, then since
you had a problem with some of this, I'd personally clear all the registry
entries listed. its a zonealarm file and i had the same problem at boot up. if you have uninstalled zonealrm reinstall it. then go to system files look for vsdata95.vxd copy to desktop and then uninstall zonealrm again. now if it still gives vsdata problem at boot up, cut and paste vsdata file from desktop and put it back into system files. it worked for me On Monday, November
